Public interest groups' request for rehearing denied.
Decision

Request for rehearing, rescission of certificate, and stay filed.
Environmental and community groups filed a request for rehearing and rescission of FERC’s authorization for the Atlantic Coast Pipeline, a natural gas pipeline running through West Virginia, Virginia, and North Carolina. The environmental groups also asked for a stay of the project. Among the errors asserted by the environmental groups were a failure to adequately assess the project’s reasonably foreseeable greenhouse gas emissions and climate change impacts and a failure to adequately consider all reasonable direct and indirect impacts and cumulative impacts, including the upstream and downstream impacts associated with gas development and compressor stations.
