Summary

The Institute for the Legal Defense of the Environment and Sustainable Development Association of Peru (IDLADS) submitted a petition to order MINAM to comply with the Eleventh Final Complementary Provision of the Regulations of the Climate Change Act. Said provision states that after 180 days of the regulation put in place, the Ministry should have approved guidelines or methodological documents for REDD+ actions with the participation of state and non-state actors. These REDD+ actions refer to a process which supports countries' efforts to reduce emissions from deforestation and forest degradation, and foster conservation, sustainable management of forests, and enhancement of forest carbon stocks.
