California v. U.S. Department of Energy

Natural Resources Defense Council and three other organizations filed a petition for review in the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals challenging the U.S. Department of Energy’s final rule that amended the procedures for establishing energy conservation standards for appliances. The amended rule changed the process for determining whether a standard is “economically justified.”

Six organizations led by Natural Resources Defense Council filed a petition for review in the Ninth Circuit seeking review of the U.S. Department of Energy’s final rule establishing procedures for new or revised energy conservation standards and test procedures for consumer products and commercial/industrial equipment.
