Petition
Petition for writ of mandate filed.
Three environmental groups challenged the environmental impact report (EIR) prepared for a master-planned community in Riverside County that included 8,725 dwelling units and 1,380,000 square feet of commercial uses on 2,883 acres. The petitioners alleged, among other things, that the EIR failed adequately analyze how climate change would exacerbate the project's impacts, including impacts on water resources. They also said the EIR failed to properly disclose conflicts with state and local climate change laws and policies.
