The automobile industry voluntarily dismissed its lawsuit challenging California regulations to limit greenhouse gas emissions from vehicles. Automobile manufacturers had pledged to drop lawsuits challenging the California regulations after the Obama administration finalized national greenhouse gas regulations and fuel economy standards.  The Obama administration issued such final regulations on April 1, 2010.
