Energy & Environment Legal Institute v. United States Securities & Exchange Commission

The Energy & Environment Legal Institute and the Free Market Environmental Law Clinic filed a Freedom of Information Act lawsuit (FOIA) against the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC). The lawsuit, filed in the federal district court for the District of Columbia, seeks to compel production of documents relating to the SEC’s interactions with the investor-activist group Ceres and New York Attorney General Eric Schneiderman. The FOIA request asked for text messages and emails containing specified climate change-related terms.
