Complaint filed.
The non-profit corporation Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington (CREW) filed a lawsuit under the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) against EPA seeking disclosure of records related to EPA’s 2014 proposed Renewable Fuel Standards (RFS), which would decrease the amount of renewable fuel required to be blended into transportation fuel. CREW alleged that companies affected by the regulation had influenced EPA’s decisionmaking. The complaint also alleged that delays in issuing the RFS suggested that the process was “politicized and tainted by outside influence.”
