Petition for writ of mandate filed.
Proponents of a ballot initiative to suspend implementation of California’s GlobalWarming Solutions Act of 2006 (AB 32) filed a lawsuit in state court to amend the legal title and summary of the proposed measure. The complaint alleged that the title Attorney General Edmund “Jerry” Brown prepared for the measure, Proposition 23, was misleading and unfair. When submitted to the Attorney General, the measure was titled “California Jobs
Initiative.” After reviewing the measure, the Attorney General changed the title to “Suspends Air Pollution Control Laws Requiring Major Polluters to Report and Reduce Greenhouse Gas Emissions That Cause Global Warming Until Employment Drops Below Specified Level for Full Year.”
